Hi I'm Aleesha, an aspiring journalist with a love of all things health, beauty, lifestyle, travel and entertainment.
I have recently finished studying MA Magazine Journalism at City, University of London. I absolutely loved my course, as it completely immersed me into the industry and helped me to develop invaluable journalistic skills. It also gave me some of my best friends, which I am so thankful for.
Before braving the streets of London for my masters, I worked as an English and Spanish teaching assistant at Sir William Borlase's Grammar School in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, where I actually studied for my own A Levels too many (let's not count) years ago.
Being a lover of busy, bustling cities I did my BA in English and Spanish at the University of Leeds, where I lived and grew for three years and developed an interest in health and beauty writing. Thanks to being the only southerner in a house of ten northerners, I also learnt that there are more names for a bread roll than P.Diddy (or is it Diddy now?) has gone through in his entire career.
During my BA I did a year abroad in Madrid, which was honestly the most amazing experience of my life. I learnt so much about the language, history, food, culture and people of a country that I have been in love with ever since I started learning Spanish at eight years old. It also made me appreciate the outdoor Mediterranean lifestyle and has definitely given me dreams of a Julia Stiles-esque Riviera retirement (it's never too early to start planning right?)
So now here we are. Finished my degrees, done my year abroad, and I'm ready to start work in the industry.
